Remove bolts (1) and fuel control linkage (2).
NOTE:
The following steps are for the installation of the
fuel control linkage.

Be sure the two screws (E) in each inboard bracket are
loose.
4.
Tighten bolts (1) for outer bearing brackets (A) and (D)
to a torque of 12 ± 3 N m (106 ± 27 lb-in).
5.
Tighten bolts (1) for inner bearing brackets (B) and (C)
to a torque of 12 ± 3 N m (106 ± 27 lb-in) for six-cylinder
only. The four-cylinder has only one bracket in the
middle.
6.
Position the inner (B) and (C) bearing to allow free
rotation of the rack control rod.
7.
Using a 2.5 mm (.12 inch) Allen Wrench, tighten two
screws (E) on each inboard bracket to a torque of 3.5 ±
0.2 Nm (31 ± 2 lb-in). Do not over tighten. Make sure
the control rod turns freely.
8.
The control rod must rotate when a force of
4.4 N (1 Ib) or less is applied to control lever (3) in the
direction indicated by arrows.

Synchronization, Fuel Timing and Valve Clearance
Adjustments. Refer to the Systems Operation,
Testing And Adjusting module.
