Remove spring (4) and piston (5).

Remove upper O-ring seal (6).

Remove sleeve assembly (7). Check tappet face (8) for
wear. If necessary, replace the complete assembly.
Check the cam surface for damage. If the surface is
damaged, replace the front housing assembly of the
governor.

Remove lower O-ring seal (9).
7.
Remove fitting (10) and the check valve.
NOTE: The following steps are for the assembly of the
fuel transfer pump.

Check the condition of all parts of the fuel transfer
pump. If any of the parts are worn or damaged, use
new parts for replacement.
9.
Lightly lubricate fitting (10) and the bore for the check
valve with clean engine oil. Install the check valve with
the sealing face down. Install the O-ring seal and fitting
(10).
10.
Lubricate the sleeve bore with clean engine oil. Install
lower O-ring seal (9). Apply 8T-2998 Camshaft Break-in
Lubricant on tappet face (8). Slide sleeve assembly (7)
into position, aligning the fat on the sleeve with the lay
on the housing bore. Install upper O-ring seal (6).
11.
Lightly lubricate piston assembly (5) with clean engine
oil. Install piston assembly (5) and spring (4).
12.
Lightly lubricate fitting (3) and the check valve bore with
clean engine oil. Install the check valve with the sealing
face toward the fitting. Install the O-ring seal and fitting
(3).
13.
Put cover (1) in position over spring (4). Slowly install
bolts (2) to compress spring (4) and install cover (1).
