NOTICE
At the time of installation, do not over-tighten the engine
oil pan drain plug. The threads for the engine oil pan drain
plug can be damaged if the drain plug is over-tightened.
Prior to filling the engine with oil, tighten the drain plug to
a torque of 25 ± 5 N· m (18 ± 4 lb-ft).

Put the gasket and engine oil pan (2) in position on the
cylinder block. Install all washers and bolts (1) that hold
the engine oil pan in position.

Tighten four bolts (2) marked "X" as shown above.
Then starting at the left rear corner of the engine oil pan
tighten all remaining bolts in a counter clockwise
direction.

Retorque all bolts to 31 3 N m (23 ± 2 Ib-ft) in a counter
clockwise direction starting from the bolt marked "Z" at
the left rear corner of the engine oil pan.
7.
Fill the engine with the correct amount and type of oil.
For the correct filling procedure, refer to the specific
Operation & Maintenance manual for your engine.
Balancer Group (3114)
(Includes Engine Oil Pump)
Remove & Install Balancer

Start By:

remove engine oil pan
NOTE:
The Balancer Group is only used on the 3114
Engine (4 Cylinder Engine).
1.
Remove discharge oil tube assembly (1).
2.
Remove six bolts (2) and the washers that hold the
engine balancer group in position. Remove the engine
balancer group and the engine oil pump, as a unit, from
the engine.
NOTE:
The following steps are for the installation of the
engine balancer group.
NOTICE
Be sure the retaining rings that hold the pin and isolators
in the shaft support assemblies are properly seated. If the
retaining rings are not seated properly, damage to the
engine could result.
