Hold cylinder block assembly (32) on shaft (33). Turn
the pump housing over, and separate the pump housing
and shaft from cylinder block assembly (32).

Use the following procedure to disassemble cylinder
block assembly (32).
NOTE:
For correct assembly, note the orientation of shim
(47) and three bellville washers (40) when
removing them from the balljoint and cylinder
block.
a.
Rem ove balljoint (46), shim (47), three bellville
washers (40), pistons (38) and plate (45) from
cylinder block (48).
b.
Remove cradle (39), lever (37), two wires (36), two
bearings (35) and two bearing races (34) from the
pump housing.
There is spring force against retaining ring (44). When
retaining ring (44) is removed, the spring force will be
released. To prevent possible personal injury, removal of
the internal components in cylinder block (32) should be
performed in a press in order to retain spring (42) and the
shims.
c.
Put cylinder block (32) in a press. Install a suitable
piece of square steel stock against spring (42). Put
slight compression on spring (42) with the press.
Remove retaining ring (44), and slowly release the
spring compression.
d.
Remove shim (43), spring (42) and shim (41) from the
cylinder block.
