Type 2
NOTE:
The following steps are for the installation of the
front housing and idler gear assembly.

Using Tool (A) and a press, install the sleeve bearing in
the camshaft idler gear.
For Type 1 gears, install the sleeve bearing until it is 0.40 ±
0.25 mm (.016 ± .010 inch) below the front face of the gear.
For Type 2 gears, install the sleeve bearing until it is 1.08 ±
0.25 mm (.043 ± .010 inch) below the front face of the gear.
For Type 3 gears, install the sleeve bearing until it is 0.85 ±
0.25 mm (.033 ± .010 inch) below the front face of the gear.

For Type 1 idler groups, put idler shaft (3) in position on
the cylinder block, and install the three bolts that hold it
to the block. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 ± 15
Nm (51 ± 11 lb-ft). Install camshaft idler gear assembly
(2) on idler shaft (3) with the timing marks facing out.
Align the previously identified timing mark on the
camshaft idler gear with the identified timing mark on
the crankshaft drive gear.
For Type 2 idler groups, install plate (4) on the back of idler
shaft (3). Position the assembly on the cylinder block, and
install the three bolts that hold it to the block. Tighten the bolts
to a torque of 70 ± 15 Nm (51 ± 11 Ib-ft). Install camshaft
idler gear assembly (2) on idler shaft (3) with the timing marks
facing out. Align the previously identified timing mark on the
camshaft idler gear with the identified timing mark on the
crankshaft drive gear.
