MAINTENANCE
2 - 1 . Maintenance Concept. T h e CCE Roller will not require any new or
s p e c i a l maintenance considerations. A l l maintenance functions can be
a c c o m p l i s h e d within the current maintenance concepts established for
c o n s t r u c t i o n equipment.
a . Operator/Crew Maintenance: Operator and crew maintenance
i s limited to daily preventive maintenance checks and services.
b. O r g a n i z a t i o n a l Maintenance: O r g a n i z a t i o n a l maintenance
c o n s i s t s of scheduled preventive maintenance services, minor repairs
and a d j u s t m e n t s .
c . Direct Support Maintenance: Direct support maintenance
consists of repairs on-site or in a direct support unit's shops.
R e p a i r s are accomplished with a minimum of tools and test equipment;.
t h e assemblies and end items thus repaired are returned to their users.
d. General Support Maintenance: General support maintenance
o v e r h a u l s selected assemblies and repairs items designated by the area
support command for return to stock.
e . Depot Maintenance: Depot maintenance overhauls end items
a n d selected major assemblies when they are required to satisfy overall
Army requirements. Overhaul of the end item may also be performed by
c o n t r a c t with the manufacturer.
2 - 2 . M a i n t e n a n c e Allocation Chart. M a i n t e n a n c e will be perforned as
n e c e s s a r y by the category indicated in the Maintenance Allocation Chart
( M A C ) (Appendix C) to retain or restore serviceability. A l l a u t h o r i z e d
m a i n t e n a n c e within the capability of a using organization will be
a c c o m p l i s h e d before referring the item to, support maintenance. H i g h e r
c a t e g o r i e s will perform the maintenance functions of lower categories
when required or directed by the appropriate Commanders. Using and
s u p p o r t units may exceed their authorized scope and functions in the
MAC when approval is granted by the next higher support maintenance
Comnander.
M o d i f i c a t i o n s . M o d i f i c a t i o n s will be accomplished by the end

item manufacturer after TARCOM approves the field campaign or modifi-
c a t i o n plan. See Appendix D.
4
