Engine Water Pump - Inspect

A water pump that has failed might cause severe engine
overheating. Severe engine overheating could result in the
following problems:
Cracks in the cylinder head
Piston seizure
Other potential engine damage

Open the engine compartment
The water pump is located on the engine block at the front of
the engine.

Visually inspect the water pump for leaks. If leaks are found,
all the seals must be replaced.
NOTE:

Close the engine compartment.
Fuel Injection Timing - Check
SMCS Code:
1290-531-FT
A qualified mechanic should adjust the fuel injector timing
because special tools and training are required.
NOTE:
The correct fuel timing specification is found on
the Engine Information Plate. Fuel timing
specifications may vary for different engine
applications and/or for different power ratings.
