TM 5-3895-382-24
NOTE: Remove the original seat washer from the
threaded hole for the fuel injection nozzle which is
located in the cylinder head. If the original seat
washer is not removed, the projection of the
nozzle will be incorrect when a new seat washer is
installed. Do not reuse the seal (4) and the seat
washer (7).
Bench test the fuel injection nozzles at a
temperature of 18 to 20 ° C (64 to 70 ° F).
NOTE: Use clean SAE J-967 oil (ISO 4113) when you are
conducting the test. The oil is available in 5
gallon containers (6V-6068 Calibration Fluid) and
55 gallon containers (6V-6067 Calibration Fluid).
If dirty oil is used for the test, the components of
the fuel injection nozzle will be damaged.
Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Pressure
Adjustment, Back Leakage Test, Nozzle and Seat
Test".

(1) The code letters are stamped on the side of the fuel injector
body. The code letters are located below the connection
for the nut of the high-pressure fuel line.
NOTE: Ensure that the new fuel injection nozzles have
the same identification code as the nozzles which
were originally installed in the cylinder head.
