REMOVAL - CONTINUED
CAUTION
Do not turn crankshaft while idler gear is off engine.
NOTE
Drive gear of fuel injection pump may turn counterclockwise when idler gear is removed. Drive gear of
fuel injection pump may have to be turned clockwise to align timing marks before installing idler gear.
Remove bushings with puller or roller off front face of one bushing and remove with driver and press.

If necessary, remove two-piece bushings (5) from idler

gear (3).

Prior to removal of idler gear hub, ensure
oil hole is marked with an (X) at top.

Remove idler gear hub (6) from cylinder block (4).
