MALFUNCTION
Battery Disconnect Switch Faulty.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Turn battery disconnect switch to OFF position (TM 5-3895-379-10).
2.
Remove nut, lockwasher, and cable from battery-side terminal.
3.
Discard lockwasher.
4.
Set multimeter to measure ohms.
5.
Touch positive (+) probe of multimeter to battery-side terminal.
6.
Touch negative (-) probe of multimeter to frame-side terminal of battery disconnect switch.
7.
Multimeter should measure infinite ohms.
8.
Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position (TM 5-3895-379-10).
9.
Multimeter should measure zero ohms.
a.
If infinite ohms are not present across battery disconnect switch terminals in disconnect
position, replace battery disconnect switch (WP 0191).
b.
If more than 5 ohms are present across battery disconnect switch in connect position, replace
battery disconnect switch (WP 0191).
c.
If both ohms checks are OK, perform the following:
(1)
Install cable on battery disconnect switch with lockwasher and nut.
(2)
Go to Malfunction: Battery cables loose, corroded, or damaged.
