If ring gear (47) was removed from the right side axle
housing, apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount on the new ring
gear and put Tool (E) in position on the ring gear as
shown. Use a press and a solid rod to push on Tool (E)
and the ring gear until the ring gear is seated in its bore.
Check the gap between the ring gear and the housing
with a feeler gauge to make sure the ring gear is seated.

Lower the temperature of bearing cups (45) and (46).
Install the bearing races in both ends of the right side
axle housing. Make sure the bearing cups are
completely seated in their bores.
4.
Use the following procedure to assemble the axle shaft
and seal:
a.
Install new "cassette" seal (44) on axle shaft (41)
using a metal sleeve (dimensions in top illustration) to
press on the outside diameter of the seal.
b.
Heat bearing (43) to a temperature of 135C (275F)
and install it on axle shaft (41). Make sure the
bearing is seated against the shoulder on the axle
shaft.
c.
Use Tooling (C) and a hoist to lower the right side
axle housing over axle shaft (41) while carefully
maintaining the alignment. Do not change direction
after the "cassette" seal tarts to enter the bore in the
end of the axle housing or the 11 "cassette" seal will
be damaged.
