(4) Reverse relief valve. (5) Reverse relief valve pressure tap.
(6) Forward relief valve pressure tap. (7) Forward relief valve.
(8) Balance lines. (9) Forward relief valve. (10) Forward relief
valve pressure tap.
2.
Disconnect one end of each balance line (8). Plug the
balance lines and cap the fittings for the balance lines.
3.
Connect two pressure gauges to pressure test pods (2)
and (8).

Cutaway of The Propel Pump
(3) Reverse relief valve. (9) Forward relief valve. (11) locknut.
(12) Adjuster. (13) Locknut. (14) Adjustment screw. (15)
Relief valve cartridge.
4.
Loosen the adjusting locknut (11) on the pressure
override relief valve. Turn adjuster (12) clockwise for
one half of a turn. Tighten the locknut.
5.
Release the parking brake.
6.
Move the speed selection switch to the HIGH SPEED
position.
7.
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle.
8.
Move the propel control lever to the full FORWARD
position. Read the pressure gauge at pressure test port
(6) and (10). The pressure should be 48000 1700 kPa
(6960 ± 250 psi).
9.
If the relief valve pressure reading is not correct, the
forward main relief valves (7) and (9) must be adjusted.
10.
Stop the engine.
11.
Place a wrench on locknut (13) and insert an alien
wrench in the hex on the top of the adjustment screw
(14).
12.
Loosen the locknut while the alien wrench is held.
13.
Adjust the pressure by turning the valve clockwise in
order to increase the pressure. Turn the valve
counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.
14.
Tighten the locknut.
15.
Start the engine and recheck the pressure at test port
(6) and (10).
16.
If the forward relief valve setting is correct, move the
propel control lever to the full REVERSE position. Read
the pressure gauge at pressure test port (2) and (5).
The pressure should be 48000 ± 1700 kPa (6960 ± 250
psi).
17.
If the relief valve pressure reading is not correct, the
reverse relief valves must be adjusted.
18.
Stop the engine and locate the reverse relief valve (3)
and (4). Follow Steps 11 through 14 in order to adjust
the reverse relief valve.
19.
Start the engine and recheck the pressure at test port
(2) and (5).
20.
Readjust the pressure override relief valve back to the
original position. To readjust the pressure override relief
valve, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Pressure Override
Relief Valve".
21.
Remove plugs and reconnect brake line (1) to the front
propel motor.
