Propel Charge Oil Filter
Remove & Install Propel Charge Oil
Filter 5068-01
Start By:
a.
remove bottom guard
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and
under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill
cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is
stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your
bar hand.

Release the pressure in the hydraulic system (page 14-7).

Drain the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a
suitable container. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank
is 80 liters (21.1 U.S. gal).

Disconnect three hose assemblies and fittings (2) from
hydraulic oil filter base (1). Cap and plug immediately.
4.
Remove the four bolts, and remove hydraulic oil filter
base (1) from the frame.
5.
Remove two screws (3), and remove bypass indicator
(5) from the hydraulic oil filter base. During assembly,
apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the two
screws. Tighten the two screws to a torque of 1.7 Nm
(15 lb-in). Do not over tighten the screws.
6.
Remove filter (4) from hydraulic oil filter base (1). When
installing the filter on the hydraulic oil filter base, tighten
the filter to a torque of 44 ± 3.5 N m (32.6 ± 2.6 lb-ft), or
3/4 turn past contact.
NOTE:
For installation of the propel charge o il filter,
reverse the removal steps.
NOTE:
After the propel charge oil filter has been
installed, fill the hydraulic oil tank to the correct
level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual
for the correct fling procedure.
