Steering Pump
Remove & Install Steering Pump

Open the engine enclosure.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and
under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill
plug only when the engine is stopped and when the fill
plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hands.
NOTE:
Identify all hydraulic lines as they are removed for
reinstallation purposes. Cap and plug all lines
and fittings to prevent any contaminant's from
entering the hydraulic system.

Release the pressurein the hydraulic system (page 14-7).

Drain the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic oil tank. The
capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 80 liters (21.1 U.S.
gal).
4.
Disconnect four hose assemblies (1) from steering
pump (2).
5.
Remove two bolts (3), and remove steering pump (2)
from the engine.
NOTE:
For installation of the steering pump, reverse the
removal steps.
NOTE:
After the steering pump has been installed, fill the
hydraulic oil tank to the correct level. See the
Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct
procedure.
