TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
SYMPTOM
ENGINE IS USING MORE OIL THAN USUAL
MALFUNCTION
Engine Oil Level Low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Open left- and right-side door assemblies (TM 5-3895-379-10).
2.
Check engine for oil leaks.
3.
Leaks may come from loose components, damaged or decayed gaskets or seals, broken
turbocharger oil lines, or loose fittings.
a.
Tighten items found to be loose. Replace items found to be damaged.
b.
If problem persists, problem is probably internal engine wear. Notify supervisor that engine
uses excessive oil.
