(14) Check the valve adjustment and readjust if necessary (see b above).
(15) Install the valve cover.
(16) Start the engine and check the valve cover for oil leaks.
a. General. Normal and uniform compression is important to efficient engine operation. A compression pressure
test is affected by engine cranking speed, engine temperature, compression ratio, and condition of valves and piston rings,
as well as the amount of carbon deposit in the combustion chambers.
b. Procedure.
(1) Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached (160 F.).
