106. Carburetor
a. General. The carburetor used on this roller is an updraft carburetor of the double-venturi design. It is "sealed" and
"balanced" in that all air for fuel bowl chamber ventilation and idling must come through the air cleaner. The power jet and
accelerating pump systems are operated by engine vacuum. They are completely enclosed and protected from dirt. The
carburetor is gravity fed from the fuel tank; the fuel and air mixture is vaporized in the carburetor and directed to the intake
manifold and combustion chambers, where it is ignited and converted into a mechanical force.
(1) Remove the hexagon bolt attaching the carburetor control rod to the carburetor throttle lever (12) and
disconnect the control rod.
