TM 5-3895-382-24 4. Remove four bolts (1).  Timing gear (2) should be free from the fuel injection pump shaft. Illustration 39 Typical example 5. Remove three nuts (9) and fuel Injection pump (10) from the engine. Illustration 40 Typical example 6. Remove O-ring seal (11) from fuel injection pump (10). (2) Timing  pin  is  required  to  install  Lucas  and  Stanadyne fuel injection pumps. NOTE: For a complete description of Type 1 and Type 2 Engines, refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Design" topic. NOTICE Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants    may    cause    rapid    wear    and    shortened component life. Illustration 41 1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (1) from fuel injection pump (2).  If the seal is worn or damaged, use a new par for replacement. 2. Lightly  lubricate  O-ring  seal  (1)  with  clean  engine  oil. Install O-ring seal (1) on fuel injection pump (2). 7-19
