Repeat steps 1 thru 7 for eccentric weight housing (5),
located on the opposite side of the drum.
NOTE:
For installation of the eccentric weight housing,
reverse the removal steps.
NOTE:
During installation of the eccentric weight
housing, apply 6V-4876 Molykote Paste Lubricant
to the splines of shaft (4), add 50 ml (1.7 fl oz) of
lubricant to shaft cavity, and engage shafts with
"T" symbols aligned vertically.
NOTE:
During installation of the eccentric weight
housing, apply 8T-4187 Thread Lock on 18 bolts
(2).
NOTE:
After installing the eccentric weight housing,
perform the flushing procedure described in
Special Instruction Form No. SEHS9880-01.
NOTE:
After the eccentric weight housing has been
installed, fill it with oil to the correct level. See the
Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct
procedure.

NOTE:

weight
housings am similar, but different. Refer to TM
5-3895-383-24P for specific part information.
Start By:
a.
remove eccentric weight housing
1.
Make sure the outside of the eccentric weight housing is
clean and free of dirt and debris.
2.
Put alignment marks on the housing and cover to aid in
reassembly steps.
3.
Install the eccentric weight housing on a suitable Sand
or move to a clean flat area for disassembly. The
weight of the eccentric weight housing is 330 kg
(726 lb).
4.
Remove two drain plugs (1) from the cover (2).
