Fan Motor
(1) Fan blade.
1.
Make sure that the engine is off and make sure that the
parking brake is applied.
2.
Place 25.4 mm (1 inch) of 1U-6605 Reflective Tape on
fan blade (1).
3.
Connect 1U-7771 Phototach to a 12 VDC power supply
or a 24 VDC power supply. Aim the phototach at the
reflective tape.
4.
Start the machine and run the engine at high idle (2350
50 RPM) until the hydraulic oil temperature reaches
38C (100F).
5.
Read the fan speed on the phototach. The fan speed
should be 1200 25 RPM.

(2) Adjustment screw. (3) Locknut. (4) Relief valve.
6.
If the fan speed is not correct, the relief valve (4) on the
fan motor must be adjusted.
7.
Stop the engine.
8.
Place a wrench on locknut (3) and insert an alien
wrench in the hex on the top of adjustment screw (2).
9.
Loosen the locknut while the alien wrench is held.
10.
Increase the fan speed by turning the alien wrench
clockwise. Decrease the fan speed by turning the allen
wrench counterclockwise.
11.
Tighten the locknut.
12.
Start the engine and recheck the fan speed.
13.
If the fan speed is correct, remove the phototach.
