Operating Techniques
Vibratory Operation - Low Amplitude
Placing the vibratory system in low amplitude
decreases the total amount of force and height of drum
movement on each vibration cycle.
Low amplitude is used whenever:
Compaction densities have not been reached and
drum decoupling occurs.
The lift thickness is less than 254 mm (10.0 in).
Objects such as sewer and water systems may be
damaged due to the higher compaction forces of
high amplitude.
1. Place vibratory system in low amplitude by moving
vibratory control switch (1) forward.
2. Start the vibratory system by pressing vibration
on/off switch (2) on top of the propel control lever.
3. Control vibration frequency by turning vibration
frequency control knob.
4. Stop the vibratory system by pressing vibration
on/off switch (2).
