8. If the adaptor (In-line engine) is to be removed, the oil filter must first be removed. Then remove the bolts and lock
washers which attach the adaptor to the cylinder block. Withdraw the adaptor and gaskets.

Remove all traces of gasket material from the cylinder block and the oil cooler components.
