Disassemble Drum Gear Reducer

Remove drum gear reducer
Piston (2) is under spring pressure and could cause
personal injury. Remove snap ring (3) carefully.
1.
Place the drum gear reducer in a press. Compress
springs (1) in the piston (2) enough to eliminate
pressure on snap ring (3) and remove the snap ring.
2.
Remove retaining disc (4).
3.
Remove 12 large springs (5) and six small springs (6),
in every other large spring, from piston (3).
4.
Remove brake piston (3) and O-Ring (7).
5.
Remove retaining ring (8), shims (9), and coupling (10).
