Typical Example Of A One Piece Manifold (6 Cylinder Shown)
Typical Example Of A Watercooled Exhaust Manifold
Put the gaskets and the exhaust manifold in position on
the cylinder head assembly. Install the locks and bolts
that hold it. Tighten the bolts in the numerical sequence
shown in the above illustration as follows:
Tighten the bolts in numerical sequence to an initial
torque of 4 ± 1 N m (33 ± 1 lb-ft).
Tighten the bolts in numerical sequence to a final
torque of 45 ± 5 N m (33 ± 4 lb-ft).
Bend the lock tab over the flat of each bolt head.
Remove & Install Flywheel 1156-010
Remove top bolt (1) and the washer that holds flywheel
(2) to the rear of the crankshaft. Install a suitable size
guide bolt, that is longer in length, in place of the bolt.
Remove the seven remaining bolts (1) and the washers.
Slide the flywheel out until it is clear of the flywheel
housing. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel, and remove it
from the guide bolt. The weight of the flywheel is 23 kg

Heat the ring gear to a maximum temperature of 204C
(400F). Do not use a torch to heat the ring gear. Put
the ring gear in position on the flywheel so the part
number on the ring gear will be facing toward the
engine. After the ring gear has cooled, tap the ring gear
with a soft drift to be sure the ring gear is seated against
the flywheel shoulder.
