Monitoring Systems and Operator
The operator's seat provided with this machine is in
compliance with the appropriate class of ISO 7096.
NOTE: Adjust the seat at the beginning of each shift or
when changing operators.
Adjust the seat so that controls can be reached with
the operator's back against the seat back.
Lock the seat in position before operating the machine
to prevent unexpected seat movement.

Move fore-aft lever (1) to the right. Hold the lever to the
right and slide the seat forward or backward to the
desired position. Release the lever to lock the seat in

suspension until the yellow rod in indicator (3) just
begins to protrude.
Lift lever (4) to adjust seat height.
Always check the condition of the seat belt
and mounting hardware before operating
Replace the seat belt at least once every three years,
regardless of appearance. A date label, to determine
the age of the belt, is sewn onto each belt.
Inspect for worn or frayed webbing.
Check for worn or damaged buckles on each half of
the belt. Replace the belt or buckles if they are worn or

Seat Belt Extension
When using retractable seat belts, do not use seat
belt extensions, or personal injury or death can
The retractor system may or may not lockup
depending on the length of the extension and the
size of the person. If the retractor does not lockup,
the seat belt will not retain the person.
Caterpillar's recommendation for extending a
retractable seat belt is to replace it with a
Longer seat belts and seat belt extensions are
available, when the seat belt is not of sufficient length
for the operator.
